Walk Ten

Join Marie Curie Cancer Care for a late summer evening 10k walk ending at 10pm to celebrate our Nurses.

Starting early evening, we’re inviting you, your friends and families to join us and light up the last of 2010’s great British summer evenings on Saturday August 14, 2010. Whilst you finish your walk at 10pm another Marie Curie Nurse will be arriving at the home of a patient. Our nurses work day and night providing expert care and support to people with cancer and other terminal illnesses completely free of charge.

So dust off your picnic blanket and settle down with some food and fizz (or a thermos of something hot) after your walk and help us mark the beginning of the next Marie Curie Nursing shift at 10pm

Registration costs just £10 and we ask that you aim to raise £100. You can find out more by clicking this link to the Marie Curie Cancer Care website.

This fantastic event will start and finish at the ancient and historic village of Athelstaneford, legendary birthplace of the Saltire. The circular route follows an established footpath over rolling farmland boasting panoramic views of beautiful East Lothian, from the Hopetoun Monument to Berwick Law and Bass Rock all the way round to the Pentlands. Upon return to Athelstaneford, there will be music and celebration to round off a most memorable event.
